WorkPlace Recovery in a Post-COVID-19 World

In March 2020, workers rapidly retreated from their workplaces armed with laptops, cables, and the tools they needed to carry on functioning in a quickly evolving global response to COVID-19.

Within the next few months employers and employees will be begin traversing back into workplace environments that may look familiar but are essentially, completely uncharted. As we begin to re-populate our buildings, there are several easy, yet highly effective ways employers can help to facilitate the physical, mental, and social well-being of their employees, while adhering to new health recommendations and social standards.

According to the World Green Building Council, community and building-based prevention and control measures have become one of the most important methods of fighting against COVID -19 and future epidemics. These measures include actions such as self-isolation, community management, elevator disinfection, environmental cleaning, open windows for natural ventilation and other actions that take into account the safety, health, and accessibility for occupants, of all ages.

In the upcoming blog series, we will discuss everything from sourcing and installing touchless technology, to supporting immune compromised workers who aren’t ready or able to return to the workplace, and how to effectively communicate this new reality to our staff, clients and community.
